Kearni N. Warren

Kearni N. Warren is an author, advocate, and speaker.  She founded The Caregiver Society, an affirming and intentional community that supports the spiritual, mental, and physical needs of caregivers. Her debut book, Caregiving for a Warrior: My Life with My Mother, Rev. Bernice Warren, is coming soon.

Born in Chester, Pennsylvania, Kearni N. Warren always felt the pull toward something greater than herself. Her passion for all life has led her to some of the most devastated areas on Earth. They include the Gulf Coast following the destruction of Hurricane Katrina and Haiti during the aftermath of a deadly earthquake.

Warren was awarded a fellowship grant and became a resident for the 1001 New Worshiping Communities in 2018. Together through a partnership with the Philadelphia Presbytery, she created The Caregiver Society, an affirming and intentional community that supports the spiritual, mental, and physical needs of caregivers. Warren’s work as a caregiver for her grandmother, introduced her to the Service Employees International Union (S.E.I.U) where she became an active member. Warren volunteered her services and voice to help service employees, homecare workers, and other domestic workers fight for living wages and to increase the minimum wage.

As a result of her work with S.E.I.U., Warren was selected to attend the White House’s first United State of Women Summit and The Worker’s Voice Summit at the Department of Labor. She was also chosen to share her personal experiences as a caregiver in front of attendees at the S.E.I.U.’s welcome party for the 2016 National Democratic Convention in Philadelphia where she introduced Pennsylvania Governor, Tom Wolf.

Warren continues to dedicate much of her life to giving back to the community. Her direct experiences with racism as a child and as an adult in the workplace influence her strong advocacy for social justice. So strong her heart took her to Ferguson, Missouri, in the wake of the Michael Brown shooting.

An artist, author, public speaker, entrepreneur, and philanthropist, Warren has made it her life’s mission to assist others in becoming their very best. When she is not devoting her time to being a caregiver, Warren enjoys modeling and acting, fine dining — she’s a self-proclaimed foodie — and cultural and fashion events.

Warren credits her faith, tenacity, and compassion as her greatest strengths.

“If your patient is not in tune with their mental health, make sure to keep on top of yours. Make time for yourself. You cannot take care of your patient if you are mentally, physically, and spiritually depleted and not taking care of yourself. ”
